This is a partly strip-pieced version of the traditional Double Wedding Block. 15" circle quilt block inset in an 18" square, designed by Mads! Included are downloadable .PDF files with Foundation Paper Piecing templates and complete step by step instructions for constructing and assembly of Block 9 of the immensely popular Dreamcatcher Round the Year Quilt which was available on my blog www.patchworkofmylife.com as a Block of the Month. Bonus: Tips for Foundation Paper Piecing successfully!

EXPERTISE LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE/ EXPERIENCED BEGINNER. Familiarity with/ knowledge of Foundation Paper Piecing is necessary. This is a quick block; though it has a number of arcs and circles, the alignment markers on the templates are a great aid to accurate piecing.

The finished size of the block is 18" square. If you prefer to construct only the inner circle, that finishes at 15" (diameter).

You may use this versatile pattern to make a small quilt, a round table runner or cushion cover if not using it for the quilt. I know of a couple of people who joined the double rings at arcs for a full quilt.
